On the bench, she is known for listening carefully to all sides, treating everyone in her courtroom with dignity, and ensuring that every voice is heard.

A native of Sumner County, just outside of Nashville, Judge Abbott graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she excelled in criminal law and earned a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. During law school, she was active in the Criminal Law Society and contributed to Pro Bono programs, including the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance initiative.
Judge Abbott began her legal career as a prosecutor in the Fourth Judicial District in 2007 before joining the Seventh Judicial District in 2009. Over the course of her career, she developed a reputation for being tough but fair—prosecuting cases ranging from first-degree murder to minor traffic offenses—and for maintaining the highest ethical standards in the pursuit of justice.
